The layouts in TearSheet are now available to EPMS subscribers. They're provided each month in the Layouts folder on each CD. Place the layouts (provided without body copy and logos) in a page layout program. Just add your text and logo for a quick design. Those of you in the newspaper business can use the layouts as quick spec ads. You'll see a number next to each layout in TearSheet. The layouts are in folders corresponding to the pages on which they appear; just check the page number in TearSheet. The layouts featured in Idea File and the Desktop Design section of TearSheet can be found in folders titled IDEAFILE and DESKTOP. The layouts are saved as Illustrator 3 documents; check your software manuals to determine program compatibility. Note: Each folder may contain several additional supporting art files for each layout. These supporting files are numbered to correspond with the layout. For example, the layout numbered 079Y_1.EPS may be accompanied by files numbered 079Y_1A.EPS, 079Y_1B.EPS, etc. If you're sending these layouts to a service bureau for output, these supporting art files will need to accompany them. The layouts that are found in the IDEAFILE and DESKTOP folders are not numbered to correspond with their monthly EPMS images; they are numbered consecutively in order of appearance on the TearSheet page. Idea File layouts are numbered 001YF.EPS (with supporting files numbered 001YF_A.EPS) and Desktop Design layouts are numbered 001YD.EPS (with supporting files numbered 001YD_A.EPS). You'll also notice that some of the Idea File and other layouts appear in black and magenta. You can open the layout in a draw program to change the magenta to the color of your choice. Or, simply have your printer run the magenta plate in your chosen color; discuss your options with your printer to ensure correct color reproduction. Technical Questions?
